The bar is open as usual for local ales, wines and spirits. Well-behaved children are always welcome, as are dogs on leads.

Our bar serves a range of local cask ales, lagers, ciders, wines and non-alcoholic drinks, and is open as usual throughout the building work.

Proudly pouring local ales

As a free house, we are free to champion the breweries on our doorstep, and you will always find ale from the Chiltern Brewery on the bar.

Alongside it we keep a regular choice of terrific guest ales, changing often, so there is usually something new to try - recent guests have included Harvey’s Sussex Best Bitter, Timothy Taylor’s and Otter.

Add to that lagers, ciders, wines and thoughtful non-alcoholic choices, and there is always something worth raising a glass to. Rooted in the community that saved it, The Crown brings people together over good drink and good company.

The Snug at The Crown

Tucked away within The Crown, The Snug is a room of your own for gatherings of up to twelve guests. Colour-drenched in olive with deep merlot accents, soft lighting and comfortable surroundings, it is the perfect space to enjoy good food, great company and memorable conversations, while keeping the atmosphere of our historic village pub.

Ideal for family celebrations, birthday lunches and dinners, anniversary gatherings, retirement celebrations, friends' get-togethers, business lunches and pre- or post-wedding gatherings.

Dining in The Snug is paused while the kitchen is closed - but if you would like to book the room for drinks or a get-together, please contact us to reserve it.
