Our story
A large group of customers with drinks in the garden at The Crown on a summer evening

Saved by the village, kept by the village.

The Crown has been at the heart of village life in Cuddington for more than three centuries. When our historic pub faced an uncertain future, the community refused to let it be lost, raising £660,000 to secure its future.

It now belongs to more than 200 shareholders through a Community Benefit Society, and to everyone who walks through the door. We are not owned by a brewery or a distant company. We are a free house, and we are its custodians.

Came across this lovely, beautifully restored pub today. It looked so inviting we stopped for a quick drink, having not intended to. It’s been very handsomely renovated and has a pretty, flower filled garden. Extremely friendly staff and an all round tip top visit.
