Senior Bar Team Member
An experienced, enthusiastic senior hand to help run the pub day to day and shape where it goes next.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic bar team member to play a leading role in the day-to-day running and the future growth of our pub.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy pub, building genuine relationships with customers and helping create an atmosphere people want to come back to.
You will have the opportunity to:

Key responsibilities
Customer service
- Deliver warm, professional and attentive bar service
- Wait on tables and create a welcoming experience for every customer
- Take and serve food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and the local community
- Handle customer questions and concerns professionally and positively
Bar and pub operations
- Open and close the bar when required
- Change barrels and support the smooth running of the cellar - experience desirable but not essential
- Carry out line cleaning, or complete training to learn this skill
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness behind the bar and throughout customer areas
- Handle cash and use the till and EPOS system confidently
- Monitor stock levels, restock and help manage bar supplies
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the pub
Team support and leadership
- Support, supervise and encourage younger members of the team
- Help train and develop less experienced staff
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of shifts when required
- Work confidently on your own while contributing positively to the wider team
- Lead by example and help create a supportive working environment
Business development
- Suggest and help deliver new events, promotions and initiatives
- Contribute ideas to increase footfall and drive trade
- Identify opportunities to improve service and customer experience
- Take ownership of initiatives that support the overall success of the pub
About you
You will:
- Have previous bar experience
- Be confident waiting on tables and providing excellent table service
- Have line-cleaning experience or be willing to learn
- Be confident supporting and supervising younger members of staff
- Be reliable, organised and able to use your initiative
- Be comfortable taking ownership and working independently
- Be a positive team player who enjoys helping others succeed
- Have excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Enjoy building relationships with customers
- Be able to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends
- Be proactive, creative and willing to bring forward ideas
- Be motivated by the opportunity to help grow the pub and increase trade
- Take pride in your work and contribute to the success of the whole team
- Be over 21 years old

Important information
The role is based in the rural village of Cuddington, which is not easily accessible by public transport. Applicants must:
- Be over 21 years old
- Hold a full driving licence
- Have access to their own vehicle
- Be available to work evenings and weekends
