Who we are
The Crown, Cuddington is a community-owned village pub. It is owned by Village Blue Sky Limited, a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, number 9735). Village Blue Sky Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the “data controller” for the information described here. This policy explains how we collect and use your personal information when you use our website or send us a booking request, and the rights you have.
You can contact us about your information, or to exercise any of your rights, at hello@crowncuddington.co.uk, or by writing to: The Crown, Aylesbury Road, Cuddington, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP18 0BB.
The information we collect
When you submit a booking request through this website, we collect:
- Your name, email address and, if you provide it, your phone number;
- Your booking details - number of guests, preferred date and time, seating preference and any occasion;
- Anything else you choose to tell us, such as dietary requirements or accessibility needs;
- Whether you have chosen to receive email updates from us.
We only collect information that you give us directly.
How and why we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes, each with a lawful basis under UK data protection law:
- To handle your booking request - to respond to you, confirm or decline the booking, and contact you about it. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in managing bookings and running the pub, and taking steps at your request before providing our service.
- To send you email updates about The Crown (news and events) - only if you tick the opt-in box. Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Dietary or accessibility notes - if what you tell us includes health-related information (for example an allergy), we use it only to serve your booking safely.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Sanity - securely stores your booking request so our team can manage it;
- Resend - sends our booking and (if you opted in) marketing emails, and holds our mailing list;
- Cloudflare - hosts this website and processes form submissions.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU-approved standard contractual clauses) are in place. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
- Booking requests - kept for up to 24 months so we can manage bookings and any follow-up, then deleted.
- Mailing list - kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your device’s IP address in order to serve the fonts.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access a copy of your personal information; to have it corrected or deleted; to object to or restrict how we use it; to withdraw consent to marketing at any time; and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@crowncuddington.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would welcome the chance to put things right first, so please do contact us.
